- **15 min:** Show examples of different printmaking techniques (e.g., woodcut, linocut, etching).
- **20 min:** Demonstration on how to safely use printmaking tools and create designs on linoleum blocks.
- **15 min:** Students get their linoleum blocks and sketch ideas for their first print.
**Class 2: Creating Linocuts**
- **10 min:** Review safety and techniques.
- **40 min:** Students transfer their sketches to the linoleum blocks and begin carving.
- **10 min:** Clean up and store materials properly.
**Class 3: Printing Linocuts**
- **10 min:** Recap carving and introduce inking processes.
- **15 min:** Demonstrate how to ink the linoleum blocks and create prints on paper.
- **30 min:** Students ink and print their designs. Encourage experimenting with different amounts of ink and pressure.
- **5 min:** Clean up and store prints.
**Class 4: Introduction to Ceramics and Initial Techniques**
- **10 min:** Introduction to the ceramic portion. Discuss historical and cultural significance.
- **15 min:** Show examples of ceramic art. Introduce basic techniques (e.g., hand-building, pinch pots, coil technique).
- **20 min:** Demonstration on how to handle clay and create basic forms.
- **15 min:** Students begin to experiment with clay, creating small pieces using demonstrated techniques.
**Class 5: Creating and Glazing Ceramic Pieces**
- **15 min:** Review ceramic techniques and introduce slips and glazes.
- **25 min:** Students continue working on their clay pieces, finalizing shapes and adding details.
- **15 min:** Demonstrate how to apply slips and glazes. Students begin glazing their finished pieces.
- **5 min:** Clean up and prepare pieces for kiln firing (if applicable).
